Meet your Physician Wellness Navigator

“I am here for you – whether you are interested in community resources, peer support, or simply want a safe, non-judgemental space to talk – my role is to ride sidecar as you navigate your wellness journey.” – Katelyn Junus, Physician Wellness Navigator.

As the DNS Pathways physician wellness navigator, Katelyn Junus is your first point of contact. Whether you are a DNS employee, physician or immediate family member, Katelyn is here to guide you toward the programs and services tailored to your needs.

Katelyn takes a person-centred, strengths-based approach in working with others. “I enjoy working from an anti-oppressive, holistic lens,” she says. “It’s important to consider many facets of a person’s life when supporting their well-being.”

As a clinical social worker, Katelyn brings a wealth of expertise and experience to her role. After completing a master’s degree in social work at New York University, she worked in hospital, community and non-profit settings in New York City for a decade. After returning home to Nova Scotia in 2020, she worked at Autism Nova Scotia as a neuro-affirming therapist and supervised the clinical team at the organization’s new mental health centre, Pinwheel Wellness. She went on to work as a health-care social worker at Duffus Health Centre, a collaborative family practice in the North End of Halifax. Katelyn joined Doctors Nova Scotia in March 2024 and plans to build her career with the organization. Katelyn is registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers. All conversations with Katelyn are bound by the association’s confidentiality policies.
